Overall it was a pretty kick ass Halloween, and there was more candy, merriment and fake blood than you can shake a stick at and one of our couches is now conspicuously covered in glitter. We're not sure how that happened.

Roleplay Love Meme

I had a pretty cool halloween. Better than last year and certainly a lot more candy than last year hurr. I'll probably post a longer post later when I've got photos off of facebook and I'm not as tired, but I was a zombie pirate :D

So, at the beginning of this year we all had to chose a specialism that we would do for the next twelve weeks. I picked 2D digital mostly because I want to specialize in this in the industry and I wasn't sure if I wanted to do 3D just quite yet.

The tutor we have gave us all a project straight away - character performance! Which is awesome! - and sent us away to start work on it. All the while, the 3D and Stop motion students aren't exactly doing much. They have workshops, but other than that, no brief, no deadlines, and no idea that apparently we're all supposed to produce one minute of animation at the end of the twelve weeks.

We're almost six weeks in, and one of my fellow 2D-ers told me that apparently we have to have all the animation done by Tuesday where we're getting marked on all the rough stuff (the 2D specialism includes clean up and digital coloring, which we're given another six weeks to do). None of the other two groups are getting a crit or getting marked, and I only just started animating a couple of days ago because I was pretty sure I had till at least next Friday to finish everything up. To make matters worse, I'm going home this weekend. And not coming back till Tuesday afternoon. And apparently, this crit is worth half our overall grade.

I'm just sort of... astounded about how extremely unfair this is. Our tutor told us there would be a crit, but not that it was going to be worth any part of our overall grade and on top of that, none of the other groups are getting marked. Hell, none of the other groups actually have any WORK, and I've basically been living in the studio all this week, trying to get stuff done. And it's not going to get done.

There's no way I can produce 30 seconds of animation tonight. I can give it a go but, it'll most likely be horrible quality, and I'm kind of twitchy about that. I can always take my lightbox home with me and do some work at home, but by the time I get back to uni I wont have time to linetest it. And it's not like I'd actually do work at home since it's my first time since I started uni that I'd be going home AND my Aunt from Bermuda is over and I'll be spending my time with her. All I can do is try and get as much done as I can, and put it all together on a really rough animatic that I did. So it would be really incomplete, and some scenes would just be keyed, but it would give an idea of what I want it to look like if I was given another week.

I'm hoping that a lot of the other guys are in a similar boat as me, because seriously. I'm going to be so unfairly fucked otherwise.

Possibly a review of what I thought of it later, when I can actually... form coherent thoughts.

So this morning I woke up with a headache, but thought nothing of it and got ready to go into Newport to go X-Box shopping and to pick up a few things I need for this week. Not only did my headache progress into what felt like a migraine, but I also stupidly left my wallet at home so I couldn't buy anything. I found this out when I went to buy an Ampharos, Flaaffy and Mareep figurine set. I was so upset since I had to leave it there 8(

Regardless of my fail, I had a good day with my friends, and then went to see hikaridonya at her house. Spent a couple of hours there, and then halfway home on the bus realized I left my phone there. Something tells me I maybe should've stayed in bed sick today. Muahh. I'm probably going to go back and get it in the morning before lectures, but right now I want to go to sleep and never wake up because I feel so sick. I think I caught it off of one of my flatmates, as they were both under the weather recently, and I'd been mostly fine.

This day has kind of been a feverish, dizzy haze. Whups.

Anyways, I've been at university for a while now! Huzzah! I'm sharing a flat with final_fantasia and silverbrumby123 and have just started settling back into student life. It's been pretty hectic what with inductions, enrolling and meeting up with old friends, but hopefully should smooth out when I get back into timetabled lessons and stuff. Sorry about flaking on the project again this week, Lynx. I'll get to it eventually or you can skip me and set one on Monday! I think that might be better and we may actually get work done, orz.

I saw Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs this week, and though it was good and funny, I probably won't RUSH OUT and see it again. One of those kinds of movies, y'know? I'm seeing District 9 at some point next week though so that should be good and hopefully getting the theater to give me lots of posters they don't want anymore so we can decorate our boring dorm hallway.

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm buying Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 even though I don't have a X-box 360, so I can play it at Donya's house. Not only will this give me an excuse to spend time with her and her amazing flatmates, but also pretty graphics and marvel characters and omg SHINY video games. Plan desu. I may just end up buying a 360 anyways. They aren't that cheap comparatively to all the other consoles, and ever since I was watching otilu playing some video games on one I was just in love. The graphics are so goregous *___* and I've never owned a x-box before anyways... and since I have a Wii and a PS2, I figured I can complete the set. Yes. Fuck off I'm not buying a PS3

HEY FLIST, if you haven't already heard, mutant prom xi_rpg has opened reserves! And my god there are like two pages of the damned things.

If you've got no idea what XI is, it's basically a panfandom AU rp game thats set in The Xavier Institute. It's like a highschool AU with laser eyes, since all the students and teachers are mutants. :D :D Reserves last extra long before we open apps next week, so if you are interested, you might want to head over there before someone nabs your dude.

It's been so much fun so far, and we've got a while to go yet but I'm SUPER EXCITED, and also upset that it's ending. 8( But I'm still excited, as Mutant Prom rp is almost ready for us to open the reserves which will probably happen sometime next week! HIGHSCHOOL AU WITH LASER EYES? YES PLS. But yes, all this work and excitement all mixed in with the fact that I've not been getting much sleep isn't all that good for me, so I'm kind of just spending most of my time sort of perpetually exhausted. Zombie Pura will nom your brains.

Well that was fun.

So today I got the most horrifically depressing idea for a Young Avengers fanfiction, and I have decided to share my woe.

At dinner tonight, we were watching ER, and it was about this kid who went to the movies and bicycled home with his friends, but got run over before he got home. He went into a coma and his grandmother had to decide whether to take him off of life support and let him go because he was brain dead, or to keep him on life support.

The kids name was Billy.

Which of course made me think that him being in 616!Earth was all a coma induced dream. And the fic would switch from him doing missions on the team, having fun and meeting teddy and falling in love and shit and the grandmother trying to come to terms with her decision, trying to tell herself that when she squeezed his hand it was just a spinal reflex, not him squeezing back. Eventually, she'll turn the life support off, which will either make Billy's dream fade away and he'd die in the 616!world too, or he'd be trapped there.

I almost cried as I was thinking it up.

But uh, yeah. I'm a terrible person.

In other news I've started watching Supernatural as LivingTV started it from the first season, and though I missed the first episode I'm rather enjoying it so far! Dean is so cute, I want to squish his face. I'm also happier that Cap might be played by Dean's actor in the avengers film. I think he'd make a cute Cap.

Going into London today to meet up with hammster, gatty and ormery for some party times, comic buying and general awesomee, and then I'm going up to otilu's house till Tuesday! I'm not taking my computer, so I probs wont be around till I get home, BUT ALL IN ALL IT SHOULD BE A FUN COUPLE OF DAYS. Cept for the fact that it's actually cheaper for me to fly to Germany than it is to buy a train ticket to Warrington |8 but I really want to see elle so it'll be worth it <3

I SURVIVED THE WEEK. Well, mostly. I've got a weird chesty cough and a headache but I'm going to put that down to being really fucking tired and not really sleeping for about three days. HURRR.

It's so nice that it's done though so I can work on personal projects. Me and Lynx have something in the works, and I've been doing a bit of mod work for my X-men rp and PERSONAL DRAWINGS! AND VIDEO GAMES! YAY. I am going to finish FF12 this summer if it kills me. And Trials and Tribulations because I found a copy FINALLY today when I randomly popped into game with my friend Jason. (MINI COLD-RIDDEN FEENIE OH MY FUCKING GOD I WANT TO CUDDLE IT)

The lighting is crap and youtube squished it for some BIZARRE reason, but I'm gonna refilm it when I get back up to uni. It's all about remembering your childhood, specifically mine (growing up in Bermuda) and some other stuck up stuff that I can't be assed to go into. :D I met some fucking awesome second years whilst I was there too, and I can see them being a major distraction next year 8D Both me for them and them for me HURR HURR.

Gonna be a bit scarce over the next week or so. I’ve got a deadline on Thursday so it’s gonna be a lot of all nighters and highly caffeinated states of being because, once again, I procrastinated to the point of being overstretched and extremely worried about how little time I actually have to do this project. I’ll get it done though, I always do! The good thing is that I already know what I’m gonna do, and the piece of music I’m gonna use, so it’s only the actual animation and editing that’ll take the time if I finish my sketchbook today, and I can probably do the animation in about 12 hours or so. SO HURRAH.

Because I have to hand it in at uni, I’ll be staying with some friends in Wales from tomorrow till Friday. (he's taking me out for Belgian waffles on Monday evening! And then when we've all finished handing things in since he's got like four projects to give in, he's taking me out into Cardiff to go to wagamamas :D He's such a sweetheart <3) I have no idea if I’ll have internets at the house. There IS internet at Uni but I should be doing work not checking my LJ 8| so I’m not sure how AROUND I’ll be. But I’ll be back Friday evening, so not too long away from you lovely peoples. I may or may not come back with fic, depending on how bored I am on the train home

Not much has been going on in the past couple of days, apart from me continually procrastinating from doing that school project thats in for the 13th. I know what I want to do and how I'm gonna do it I just have no motivation to do it 8( I'd much rather make icons of Eli or Thorg or Jaime which is always the way when you have something that NEEDS TO BE DONE. You have inspiriation for something else, and then when you finish the thing you had to do, the other stuff doesn't seem as inspiring anymore. SIGH. I even want to write Tommy fic, and coming from me that's a big thing! I never write fic. Ever. IT INTIMIDATES ME FAR TOO MUCH. But... I still want to because it's anything but my project 8|a; I have so much to do before I go to Wales too on Monday. Aaaaaa.
